BACKGROUND

Christmas 2004: Screenwriter Marko Leino received the most memorable phone call of his life. At the other end of the line, the caller wanted the true story to be told about his childhood and how he became the iconic figure he is.

Only after several visits to Santa Claus's residence at Korvatunturi in Lapland, Finland, Leino became convinced the caller was, indeed, the one and only Santa Claus. After seeing too many glitzy Christmas films, Santa Claus wished to correct all misconceptions and reclaim his story. By the summer of 2005, writing was already advancing nicely.

Snapper Films thanks Santa Claus for the honor of telling his story. Christmas 2007: Santa's secrets were finally revealed in the family film Christmas Story.

Christmas Story is distributed in Scandinavia by Sandrew Metronome Distribution Finland Oy. Delphis Films, the worldwide distribution division of FRV Media, handles world sales.
